How to

Use the web clipper to capture a vendor product in the designer catalog

Review a vendor page's captured product details before saving a catalog item.

  1. 1

If you have the bsns.cc Chrome extension pilot installed, open its toolbar icon, choose connect to bsns.cc, select the business, and paste the generated token into the extension settings. Check that settings confirms Designer product capture is available.

The extension is a limited pilot; a Chrome Web Store listing or automatic updates are not promised. Ask support about access if you do not have it. Product capture requires a designer business and permission to manage its catalog. Reconnect to switch businesses or replace an older token without capture access.

  2. 2

Open the vendor product page, then choose capture product from this page in the extension popup, or right-click and choose bsns.cc: capture product. Review the name, description, vendor, source category, public offer price, currency, and reference image in the side panel.

A public offer price is not your trade or purchase cost. Enter a known trade cost separately. Missing or conflicting variant/range prices can remain blank; check the source and enter the correct value yourself instead of assuming it was captured.

  3. 3

Use Optional item details for client price, SKU/model, dimensions, material, finish, or lead time. Choose continue in catalog, review the prefilled fields, choose the client project and optional room, then save the product.

    Shop

For a web-captured product, choose an accessible project before saving; create the project first if none is available. Ordinary manual product creation still permits a catalog-only item. Continuing does not save the item. An explicitly selected reference image is pending import until the catalog save; uploading a replacement changes the image selection. Review the resulting item and any image-import warning.

  4. 4

For another product, open its vendor page and choose Clip new item in the side panel. Review the fresh values and image choice again before continuing.

Worth knowing

  • A capture handoff expires after ten minutes and is single-use. If it expires, clip the source page again rather than assuming a blank catalog form still contains the capture.
  • The web catalog's ordinary price and cost fields are USD. A non-USD capture leaves those fields blank rather than silently converting or copying the foreign amount; review the currency warning and enter the intended USD values yourself.
  • The project picker prefers a valid project supplied by the current workflow, otherwise the last accessible project submitted in that browser for the same business and user. Check or change it before saving.
  • Mobile sharing uses the native Capture inbox instead of the Chrome extension. See Share a link, product image, receipt, or PDF into mobile Capture.
