Which app owns what.
The apps share records, but each business object still has one source app. Other apps may show a shortcut, summary, or related record, but the source app is where the underlying record lives. Workflows live in work and decide what happens after those source objects are created or changed.

Vertical owners
Vertical apps own the domain-specific operational work. When they show customers, tasks, documents, messages, or money, those records should still point back to the canonical owner above.
Take your data with you
Ownership is meaningless without portability. The tenant app suite ships one-click tenant data exports — open the app, go to settings, click Data export, and you get a zip with JSON rows, flat CSVs for spreadsheet-friendly entities, a manifest, and a README. Same envelope across the tenant apps. The archive is structured for migration; direct import is available where the source app currently ships an importer.
If you want a deeper read on what is and isn’t included (capability tokens are redacted; encrypted PII is excluded by policy), see Trust.
Common questions
- If it is a task, it is tracked in work.
- If it is a signed document, it is signed in pact.
- If it is customer communication, it is sent through loop.
- If it is a full customer profile, it is managed in ties.
- If money goes out, use tabs. If money comes in, use bill.
- If the question is “what should happen after this exists?”, use work workflows.
