Add a new project in a designer workspace

   On the dashboard, choose New project. You can also open projects and choose New design project.

   Shop · dashboard → New project

   Enter the project name, for example Smith primary residence.

   Use New admin project instead when the work has no client, such as your own studio tasks.

   In client, search your clients and pick the one this project is for. If the client is new, type their name and choose + Add the name as a new client (or + New client), then enter their name and, if you have it, their email. Choose Choose an existing client instead to go back to searching.

   You need the client's email before you can send them a proposal. If you leave it blank now, add it to the client later.

   Choose Create and continue (some workspaces show Create project). If you chose Create and continue, the next screens are Address and tax, Budget and rooms, and Billing rates. Fill in what you have and skip the rest; all of it can be changed later in project settings.

   Set the project's address and sales tax before you send a proposal. Sending is refused until the project has a sales tax rate.

Worth knowing

• Some workspaces still show the longer new design project screen, which asks for the client, project location and rooms together.
• A new project does not send anything to the client. Add products and create a proposal when you are ready.
