How to

Use your mobile number as caller ID

Verify your personal mobile and choose it as the number shown on your outgoing bsns voice calls.

  1. 1

Sign in as yourself, select the right business, then open Settings → My voice settings → call from my own number. Your business must already have a working bsns phone line and personal caller ID enabled.

Chat · Settings → My voice settings

  2. 2

Enter your own US or Canadian mobile number with +1 and the full number. Choose text me a code or call me with a code, then send me a code. Keep that phone with you to receive the text or automated call.

Chat · call from my own number

Use a number you control. Verification belongs to your signed-in account; another team member cannot verify it for you. Toll-free numbers and numbers outside the supported US/Canada regions are not accepted.

  3. 3

Enter the received code and choose verify within ten minutes. If it does not arrive, check messages or missed calls. Wait at least one minute before send a new code; you can switch to call me with a code if texts do not arrive. Use the newest code.

Chat · code sent to your number → verify

Each code allows five attempts. Resends and attempts have daily limits across businesses; if a limit is reached, wait as the error instructs rather than repeatedly requesting codes. Never share the code with support.

  4. 4

After Your number is verified, select Use it for my calls unless I pick another line and choose save. Confirm Your calls show as displays your personal mobile number. Verification alone does not make it the default.

Chat · call from my own number → save

  5. 5

On the web, open a conversation with a phone number and choose its phone button, then My mobile in call from. In the current bsns mobile app, open the dialer and select My mobile. A business line instead shows that business number. Call someone expecting a test call and ask which number they see.

Chat · Conversation → phone button → call from; mobile dialer → line picker

Worth knowing

  • This changes outbound voice caller ID only. Calls still use your bsns line, with recording and transcription governed by your preferences and the business line's settings. Replies to your personal number reach your usual phone carrier; this does not port your mobile number into bsns or let bsns send texts from it.
  • A recipient's contacts and carrier can affect how a call is displayed. Verification does not register a caller name or guarantee what every recipient sees.
  • Personal caller ID is not supported on desk phones. If My mobile is unavailable in the mobile app, update the app and sign in to the same business and account used for verification.
  • If call from my own number is missing, or the page says bsns must finish a phone setup step, contact bsns support. The business must be enabled and its carrier setup ready before verification can work. Do not buy another number to solve this.
  • To return to your business caller ID, clear Use it for my calls unless I pick another line and save. To revoke verification, choose remove my number. If removal is awaiting the carrier, choose finish removing my number to retry; bsns stops offering the personal number while removal is pending.
