How to

Send a customer a payment link

A customer is emailed a secure link to pay any amount, and you can see whether it was paid.

  1. 1

Open Payment links. Pick a saved customer to fill their email, or type any 'customer email'. Enter the 'amount' and 'what it's for'.

Shop · Shop → Payment links

If it says Stripe isn't set up, finish Settings → Payments first. The customer sees 'what it's for' on the payment page and in the email.

  2. 2

Optionally use 'link internally to' to tie it to a web order, counter sale, repair, rental or trial. For a rental, leave 'this pays rent' ticked for rent and untick it for a repair or late fee.

    Shop

  3. 3

If offered, tick 'also accept bank transfer' (about 4 business days to clear) and set a 'discount for paying by bank'.

    Shop

The discount is fixed when the link is created, so changing it later does not re-price a link you already sent.

  4. 4

Choose 'create & email link'. Under 'recent links', use 'resend email', 'show link', 'copy' or 'check payment' for a link you have sent.

Shop · Payment links → recent links

The link stays valid until it is paid. Use 'check payment' instead of opening the customer's link yourself; opening it can text the customer.
