How to
Edit an unpaid phone order
The draft order's items, addresses, discount, or how it's collected change without creating a second order or leaving a stale checkout link the customer could still pay.
- 1
Open the order and choose 'edit order' — it only appears while the order is still an unpaid phone order.
Shop · web orders → open the order → edit order
The edit link is only offered for an unpaid phone order. A paid, cancelled, storefront, international-quote, or invoice-settlement order has no edit option — take a new order instead of trying to force a change onto it.
- 2
Change items, quantities, discounts, addresses, or how it's collected in the same form used to take the order, then save.

Saving re-prices every line from the current catalog. An item that's since been removed from the catalog is dropped from the draft and named on screen — re-add a replacement if the customer still wants it.
- 3
Send a fresh checkout link or invoice from the order page.
Shop · web orders → open the order
Saving retires any payment link already sent, so the customer's old link stops working even if the total didn't change — always send a new one after saving, or the customer has nothing valid to pay.
Worth knowing
- A shipping amount typed in by hand is kept exactly as saved on the edited draft, not recalculated — clear the box before saving if you want the rate table's number back.
- A tax exemption already recorded on the order carries forward to the edit rather than being cleared, so you don't have to re-justify a decision already made.
