How to

Send a client a quote for your services

A priced quote, with your scope and fee lines, that the client accepts or declines before you invoice.

  1. 1

Open the client from Clients and choose New quote. The quote opens with that client already chosen.

Work · Clients → the client → New quote

  2. 2

Or open Money, choose Quotes & proposals, then New proposal, and pick the client there.

Billing · Money → Quotes & proposals → New proposal

  3. 3

Describe the scope and add a line for each fee, for example 3 styling sessions at $450 each. Check the total, then choose Save draft.

  4. 4

On the saved quote, choose Get the client link and send that link to your client.

If the quote page says nothing is emailed, copy the link and send it yourself; the client sees the quote only through that link.

  5. 5

Your client opens the link and accepts or declines. You see their answer on the quote and in your notifications.

  6. 6

Once it is accepted, choose Convert to invoice to bill from the same lines, then send the invoice.

Worth knowing

  • A quote charges nothing. Your client pays only from an invoice you send.
  • Client sign-offs ask a client to approve something you describe; they carry no price lines. Use a quote when you need a price agreed.
