How to

Schedule a follow-up for a web order

A backorder, customer promise, or other order-specific loose end is assigned to someone and resurfaces on the right date.

  1. 1

Open the web order and choose 'add follow-up' beside the other order actions.

Shop · web orders → open the order → add follow-up

The action appears only when your role can create Work tasks. It does not change the order, reserve stock, or contact the customer.

  2. 2

Replace the suggested title with the exact next action, assign it to the person responsible, and set the date when it should resurface.

    Work · new follow-up

A task without a due date remains in Work but cannot serve as a dated reminder. Put internal context in the description; use 'message customer' on the order when communication is required.

  3. 3

Create the task, then use its source action whenever you need to return to the order.

    Work

The task stays linked to the exact order in this business. Completing the task records that the follow-up was handled; it does not complete, ship, cancel, or refund the order.

Worth knowing

  • Create more than one follow-up when different people own different next actions; the order link is shared, but each task keeps its own assignee and date.
  • Projects, labels, attachments, priority, sub-tasks, and recurrence remain available in the full task form.
