How to
Mark a pickup order ready and tell the customer
A paid pickup order is packed, the customer is emailed that it is waiting, and the order is closed once they collect it.
- 1
Open the order from Web orders. A pickup order says 'pickup order - no shipping packages required' under 'shipping packages'; it has no label to buy.
Shop · Web orders → open the order
The ready notice appears only once the order is paid, and only to people who can manage web orders. An unpaid order has to be paid first.
- 2
If the status row offers 'mark packing', choose it while you gather the items.
Shop · the order → status
- 3
Choose 'ready for pickup — notify customer' under 'shipping packages'. The customer is emailed that the order is packed and waiting.
Shop · the order → shipping packages
There is no separate 'ready' status. The order stays 'packing' after the email, and the notice is sent once; afterwards the page reads 'customer notified ready for pickup' with the time. If it says 'email not sent', the customer was not told, so try again or contact them another way.
- 4
When the customer collects it, choose 'mark picked up' in the status row.
Shop · the order → status
'Picked up' closes the order. Do it at the hand-over, not before.
Worth knowing
- Pickup must be offered in your storefront settings for customers to choose it at checkout.
