How to
Import a product catalog from CSV
An existing product list becomes your Shop catalog, with an explicit result for every row.
- 1
As a Shop admin, open the catalog import page and export the current catalog first when you want a round-trip template.
Shop · catalog → import from CSV
- 2
Prepare a CSV with sku and name. Add any useful optional fields: description, vendor, cost, price, reorder point and quantity, dimensions, material, finish, or lead time in days.
Headers are case-insensitive, common aliases such as title, retail, supplier, and rop work, and extra columns are ignored. The file must be 5 MB or smaller.
- 3
Upload the file and review the created, updated, skipped, and per-row results.

Existing rows are matched by SKU and updated; unknown SKUs are created. Rows commit independently, so successful rows remain saved when a later row fails. Correct only the failed rows before retrying, and keep SKUs unique to avoid rewriting a row that already succeeded.
- 4
Open a few imported items to verify vendor, pricing, images, tracking mode, and reorder behavior before using them in proposals, purchase orders, or sales.

The importer cannot infer operational choices that were not in the CSV. In particular, verify serialized versus bulk inventory and disable the reorder rule for one-off designer specifications.
Worth knowing
- If a catalog is larger than 5 MB, split it into smaller CSV files with unique SKUs.
- The catalog export can be edited in Excel or another spreadsheet and uploaded back through the same page.
- Export the catalog before a large update if you need a before-state reference; the importer does not provide a one-click rollback.
