Edit, add, or hide a category

A category has the right name, sits where you want, and is shown or hidden on the website as intended.

Open Categories and find the category in the list. It shows its number of items.

Categories is for owners and admins only; anyone else is sent back to the catalog.

To rename it, choose 'edit name', type the new 'category name' and choose 'save'.

Renaming changes only the label. The items filed under it stay there, and its website address does not change.

To change whether customers see it online, choose 'hide from website' or 'show on website'. To change its tile picture, use 'choose a photo' (a photo already on one of its products) or 'upload' on the same row; 'clear' removes it.
Shop
Hiding a category also hides anything filed under it. Website changes show within about a minute.

To add one, choose 'add a category', give it a 'name', optionally choose 'inside' another category, and choose 'add category'.

To move a product to a different category, open the product from the catalog and change its 'category'.

Worth knowing

You cannot delete a category, reorder the list, or move a category inside another once created. If you need that, contact support.
