How to
Complete a repair pickup or reopen a completed repair
The approved repair is paid, returned to the customer, and reopened only with its original sale reversed.
- 1
Build the ticket scope and estimate, then obtain approval for the latest revision before marking the work ready.
Shop · repair → open the ticket → estimate
READY and pickup are blocked if the latest estimate is expired, unapproved, or no longer matches the ticket's current lines.
- 2
Move the ticket through IN_SHOP and AWAITING_PARTS as needed, then mark it READY and send the customer notice when the work is done.
Shop · the repair ticket → status and customer notice
- 3
At pickup, record cash, check, or store credit on the ticket, or use the register for a card payment, and complete the pickup.
Shop · the repair ticket → pickup
Completion creates the counter sale, returns custody, and deducts PART lines once. Do not separately ring the same repair or manually adjust its parts afterward.
- 4
To reopen a completed repair, first fully refund the exact source-linked pickup sale, then move the ticket back to IN_SHOP.
Shop
The app refuses to reopen a modern completed ticket while its pickup sale remains paid. Legacy tickets with no recorded source sale are the exception.
Worth knowing
- Cancelling and reopening are deliberate reverse transitions: CANCELLED can return to DROP_OFF; COMPLETED can return to IN_SHOP under the refund rule.
