How to
Restore an earlier website draft
Recover a retained site version, review the restored draft, and publish only when ready.
- 1
Open the site editor from Site & brand and choose Version history (History on a smaller screen), where offered.
- 2
Preview the retained version you want. Save or discard unsaved editor changes before restoring.
History contains retained versions, not every edit. Restoration replaces the whole site draft, not just the selected page.
- 3
Choose the version to restore and review the confirmation. The current saved draft is kept as a recovery checkpoint; your public site remains unchanged.
- 4
Review the restored pages and navigation in the editor. Publish only when you want visitors to see the recovered version.
If the draft changed after you loaded history, refresh history and review it again. If restoration could not be confirmed, reload the editor and inspect the saved draft before retrying.
Worth knowing
- Version restoration requires site-management access and a site that supports versioned publication. Use the availability and status shown in the editor. Restoring a site draft does not reverse customer orders or other business transactions.
