How to

Count physical inventory and correct on-hand quantities

The ledger matches a physical count without changing items that were not counted.

  1. 1

As a Shop admin, open Inventory → Stock take and choose the location you are physically counting.

Shop · inventory → stock take

Counts are location-specific. Verify the location before entering anything, especially when multiple locations are enabled.

  2. 2

Walk the shelves and enter the actual quantity for each item you counted; leave every uncounted row blank.

    Shop

Blank means skip, not zero. Enter 0 only when you physically confirmed none are present.

  3. 3

Apply the counts and review the adjusted, unchanged, and net-delta result.

    Shop

Only changed counted lines write ADJUSTED movements. A stock take corrects bulk on-hand; it does not create or identify serialized units.

  4. 4

Use Inventory → Movements to investigate any unexpected adjustment before the next sale or receipt changes the balance again.
